We are CWM

CWM Automation Ltd is a UK company based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. We are specialists in providing customers with a wide range of filling, heat sealing and lidding machinery, as well as fully automatic end of line automation solutions.

Having spent over 18 years designing and manufacturing a wide range of automated solutions, CWM Automation has built up a wealth of knowledge and expertise within this sector. Our mission is to exceed our customers’ expectations in quality, delivery and performance through continuous improvement and customer interaction.

An established, vibrant company, CWM Automation is experiencing progressive growth at a sustainable pace whilst laying down strong foundations on which to build.

Mick Williams

Managing Director

Mick founded CWM Automation in 2006 and has been the Managing Director ever since. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business and its development working with the CWM management team and the Hexadex group directors.

Charlotte Maynard

Assistant Accountant/HR

Charlotte is responsible for all accounts duties: purchase/sales ledger, payroll, credit control etc as well as HR. Charlotte also looks after all aspects of reception

Kev Metcalfe

Service Manager

As Service Manager, Kev is responsible for overseeing ongoing projects and timescales, as well as managing our team of service engineers.

Brian Isaac

Service Engineer

Brian joined CWM in 2021. His role involves visiting customer's sites to install new machinery, perform services & health-checks and attend machine breakdowns.

Paul Forrest

Service Engineer

Paul joined CWM in 2024. His role involves visiting customer's sites to install new machinery, perform services & health-checks and attend machine breakdowns.

James Helsdown

Service Engineer

James joined CWM in 2022. His role involves visiting customer's sites to install new machinery, perform services & health-checks and attend machine breakdowns.

Nathan Sulman

Junior Service Engineer

As a Junior Service Engineer, Nathans job involves assisting with machine health checks/services and installing/commissioning new machinery.

Design Manager

As Design Manager, Gareth oversees the design department to ensure that project timescales are met.

James Warriner

Mechanical Design Engineer

James joined the design team in 2022. His role as Mechanical Design Engineer involves him working as part of a team to design new machinery for different industries.

Sam Howden

Mechanical Design Engineer

Sam joined the design team in 2025. His role as Mechanical Design Engineer involves him working as part of a team to design new machinery for different industries.

Karen Fox

Controls Manager

As Controls Manager, Karen works alongside the Mechanical Design office to write up controls specifications and oversee controls projects.

Mark Ellis

Controls Engineer

Mark has been part of the CWM Controls team since 2007 and is responsible for carrying out controls projects, testing new machinery, responding to machine breakdowns and providing online support.

Daryl Cawte

Controls Engineer

Daryl’s job as a Controls Engineer involves him working on controls projects, testing new machinery and visiting customer sites to provide support.

Catherine Slack

Purchasing Supervisor

Catherine has recently been promoted to Purchasing Supervisor. Her role now involves liaising with the whole CWM team whilst still engaging with various different suppliers and ordering parts for machine build and spares.

Collette Ratcliff

Purchasing Administrator/Progressor

Collette joined CWM in 2026 as a Purchasing Administrator/Progressor. Collette deals with supporting the supply chain with orders and progression status as well as general enquiries
