About Us

Based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, CWM Automation Ltd specialises in providing customers with robust and reliable filling machinery, as well as end of line and fully bespoke equipment.

Having spent many years designing and manufacturing a wide range of automated solutions, CWM Automation has built up a wealth of knowledge and expertise within this sector. Our mission is to exceed our customers’ expectations in quality, delivery and performance through continuous improvement and customer interaction.

Here at CWM Automation, we have a team of 29 employees, each of which are vital for the success and growth of the business. Our expert teams work together to help us reach our business goals: to design and manufacture reliable solutions that meet customer expectations, to continuously improve through embracing new innovation and technologies and to provide high quality customer service.

Meet our team

Mechanical Design

We specialise in providing robust and reliable filling machinery, as well as end of line and bespoke projects. All mechanical design is completed in-house, utilising the latest version of Solidworks 3D drawing packages. In addition, we have our own machine shop and fabricating facilities, which allow most of the components to be made in-house.

Turnkey Projects and Project Management

CWM can offer full turnkey projects by supplying, integrating and installing OEM equipment, such as labellers, check weighers, metal detectors etc. Support is provided throughout all stages of these projects by our dedicated team of Project Managers.

Electrical & Controls

CWM are also a leading supplier of quality control system design, electrical design and engineering solutions, all of which is completed in-house by our team of experts.

2006

Formed in 2006, CWM Automation rapidly gained a positive reputation for providing high quality solutions to a range of industries. 

2012

In April 2012, Williams EDI merged companies with CWM Automation Ltd, providing one strong company with expertise in both mechanical and electrical engineering.

2017

CWM Automation became official OEM partners with Rockwell Automation, facilitating our continuous improvement goals and providing us with access to high-quality Rockwell components, which has led to the development of our latest innovation: the CWM 240i. 

2018

CWM Automation was acquired by Hexadex: a successful family-owned business with its headquarters in Gainsborough. The financial and organisational strength of the Hexadex Group, together with its broad base of manufacturing expertise and geographic spread, has allowed CWM Automation to further develop new products and markets while servicing its existing loyal customer base.

2019

Following a period of progressive growth, CWM relocated to new premises in 2019. Based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, our newly refurbished 36,500 sq./ft factory boasts enhanced facilities and enables us to accommodate more projects to meet our ambitious growth targets. 

2021

A fresh new look came to CWM with the launch of our new marketing strategy. combined with a fresh new website. Targeting new markets with our advanced technologies we are excited to see what the next chapter will bring for CWM.

CWM are proud to be members of PPMA (Processing and Packaging Machinery Association) – an established trade association for producers of processing and packaging machinery.

In 2021, CWM became a Gold OEM Partner in the Rockwell Automation Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Partner Program. As a gold OEM partner, CWM takes advantage of a collaborative partnership approach with Rockwell Automation with strategic growth opportunities along with various services for digital transformation.

Safe Contractor Approved

We are pleased to have certified membership to the SAFE Contractor Accreditation scheme. We have been accredited with SAFE Contractor’s high standards of merit since 2010 and continue to work with their professional team to improve health and safety throughout our business.
